Leather Craftsman

At the core of Mawdesley & Co is a deep desire to create good things. This heart begins with our founder Scott Mawdesley who grew up working on the farm learning the value of a hard days work. From an early age he found great fulfillment in using his hands to work and create something meaningful. 

Over the years, this passion has shown up through launching and leading teams where his passion for people has taught him that one size doesn’t fit all.  In fact, over the years, he has learned to create handcrafted environments and experiences to help others discover who they are made and called to be.

Along this journey of serving others and rediscovering himself, he came across the art of working with leather. This became therapy and an important outlet for his creativity. Through becoming a leathersmith, he discovered a place for deep focus, expanded imagination and the possibility of creating beautiful things. Scott fell in love with the process of taking something from its raw form to a handcrafted beautiful leather goods.

What began as a hobby, has now become a full blown passion. For well over a decade, Scott has handcrafted leather bags, wallets, journals, computer cases, bracelets, and various custom leather goods for himself, family, friends, and clients. 

As a leather craftsman, he finds beauty in creating and deep joy in knowing his handcrafted pieces go along through the journey of others lives! Each handcrafted piece symbolizes what it means to continually shape and form something raw into a finished work of art.
